O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that
trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young
lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Psalms 34:8-10
Change. It is inevitable, but it is not always welcome.
Financial instability can bring about changes in one's lifestyle. The budget may have to scale down and some luxuries
may have to be eliminated in order to maintain day-to-day living. Illness, whether it is one's self or a loved one,
can cause change. Health habits may have to improve, a medicine regimen begun, or other family members may have to change
schedules to help in the care of the ill family member. Death is yet another culprit of change. Lives are completely
upturned as family and friends cope with losing a loved one. Again, schedules may get rearranged, old habits that centered
around that person need to be broken, lives have to get used to living minus one.
Change is imminent, but know that God is perfectly aware
of how much you can bear. He knows what it takes to get you to the expected end He has already purposed for you.
"The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate." Psalms 34:22
This year, 2008, a year of New Beginnings, is our year
here at the Temple, to change for the BETTER in all areas to the glory of God. We will be seeking the
Lord's direction like never before in everything from finances to ministry teams.
So, taste and see that the Lord is good. Welcome
change because God changes us to get us closer to Him.
May God's grace and peace abound in you,
Suffragan Bishop Robert L. Evans
